Think about this!
Registration was last night and tonight. I have had many visits from students and former students. They are all excited to be back. They were letting me know that they are in my class or classes. So many hugs. One parent has a daughter that graduated last year. As you all know I am an advocate for women. Her daughter has a boyfriend that is doing what most abusers do... I have known this young lady since she was just an infant. I have discussed things that I have seen at school in the past with her. Mom is now dealing with it at home since she graduated. Yeah same sob stories from him... controlling through means that only the outsider can see... telling how he is the victim... tells her she should do what she wants in her parents home as she has graduated... HUMMMMMMMMM let me see how many times have I taught the signs to these young ladies... Oh that's right... only the abuser knows what is right for them... they are the only ones that cares about them... it is hard to tell when you first meet them as they are all "great and wonderful" and they are always the "victim" of others... I cannot protect them, I can only try and teach them the warning signs. Behind closed doors is where most abuse happens... Then it becomes you have no proof... so call the cops... I don't care... Sad.
I also was visited by a parent that asked that when their child feels they are going to explode to make sure they can come to my room. I guess because I am a passive person I don't present conflict at the time... If I could only lose 1 pound a lap around the track I would be toothpick size... Oh wait that is tooooo skinny for me... Okay if only I had a dollar for each lap... I'd be a millionaire! When it rains I let them walk the laps if they want... I stay in my door and watch... When it is snowy we have a snowball fight... the kids all love that... I am tired and think I will go to bed now... Good night all.

What do you know...
What do you know it is time for school again. Austin starts on Wednesday next week. This is year two... 1st grade. I talked to him on the phone he wasn't sure he had his school supplies... yes Austin you do have all of your supplies! I think it will be harder to convince him the summer is over and it's back to the ole grind stone this year. He knows what is happening...LOL Devon will definitely be lost... what will he do without his big brother all day! Poor Casi. Casi is job hunting kind of. She wants to work, it's just finding what she wants to work at. Casi is doing fabulous after her surgery. I am so proud of how brave she was. Shane is still working the same ole job. Their new home is started... I cannot wait to see it finished. Maybe Aunt Marianne will go help decorate... I know she would love to help spend money!
James is doing better. He is starting to see the light at the end of that long tunnel. Decisions will need to be made soon and they will present a hard choice for him. I am glad he is not going to the emergency room everyday now. I think they have finally gotten it all figured out. Recovery is the hardest part. I am worried about his hip though as it does not seem to have healed correctly. Hopefully since he can go to therapy now it will loosen it up and it will heal. I think they thought he was going to die, and just didn't do things the way they should have been done... His accident was bad but the recovery should have been easier. Time will tell...
Jenny and Robert spend a lot of their time with their X-boxes. I really wish they would do more. Robert will be driving soon... He is looking for wheels... I am not sure what kind he is looking for, but you know Robert. He test drove a $50.000.00 truck, Chevy of course, the other day... KEEP DREAMING ROBERT! McDonald's doesn't pay that well...LOL
I have gone out to my classroom to finish up. I not sure I ordered everything they put in my room... however it has been a few months ago. Need to get on my computer and check this out. I know that it is always a guessing game as to how things will be ordered. Some years you will put a 2 in front of your choice, like pens, and you get 2 pens... and other years you will receive 2 boxes of pens... Last year we received the first this year we received the second.... I guess I can pass out pens the first day of classes... I guess I forgot to order folders for the kids... Hope I have enough... I received a ton of three ring binders!? I don't even remember ordering them but I will take them.
My hubby is wore out. All this traveling back and forth to help James has wore him out. He is not use to being the one to make the trips for the kids... He is glad to be back to work. I think he is having product withdrawal....LOL. He has put a few thousand miles on the new motorcycle. He has been to Arkansas... Eastern Illinois... North Carolina... Tennessee... Missouri... West Virginia... and who knows where else. You know how he is when he rides... Where ever the road leads that's where he goes. We went to visit one of his brothers on one of the hospital trips. That was nice.
Kristina and the girls are doing good. Kristina has been asked to work this program again next summer... What a great job... and it sure does help them out financially. The girls have been at their father's for the past two weeks... it seems like an eternity. I sure do worry about them when they are there. Rachel went to College for Kids twice this summer. She had so much fun there. Some of the classes she took she actually had homework... Ashely spent much time here with the boys and then she would go help at the Cafe` on the Lawn with her mother. She liked working because she could earn tips. And besides that Ashley is a people person... she enjoyed waiting on people. I am so glad that my family likes to work and that they understand the importance of being able to support yourself...
Lara and Christopher just got back from Jamaica.. Can't wait to see all of their pictures. I know they are coming here this week... nephews and nieces won't be here and that is always a disappointment... I will go get the boys if they can come visit... I think Austin is having Grandmum House Withdrawal...LOL
My Mum is doing good. She will be 91 soon and she says she has earned every day she has been here on this Earth and that God has blessed her and given her the best children in the World...!!!! She is waiting on another great-grandchild. Orville is in stage 4 now... More bad days then good. Aunt Frances was told that her heart was ready to give out... She is in the hospital again. Prays to her. You know she keeps fighting, Mum is afraid that Aunt Frances is ready to stop fighting and just quit... Mum would lose a good friend... but the downs are worse than the up times. Aunt Frances said she only wanted to live until her first great-grandchild was born... and that was just a short time ago. It is hard to believe she is 95. Her and Mum both look in their 60's.
Back to my lesson planning... I have a list of my students now and I know who and what I will be teaching when... That always helps...
