making fun of...

Today a young man wanted to make fun of one of my students. He knows the young man is one of my students. I explained to him about what had happened when this young man was 5 years old... flew through the window of his father's truck and back into the truck ... he did not understand that his father sitting next to him, still in the driver's seat was dead. His basic memory of that moment in time, before blacking out due to head trauma, was trying to get his dad to take one of the french fries they were eating just before the accident.
I am not sure why individuals feel they must make fun of others... I don't care if you like them, and in the case of children, do not like their parent or parents, you have to feel sorry for the ones with medical conditions that make their life harder. It doesn't matter if it is physical or emotional, try not to make fun of them. Have compassion. Their parents can be the world's biggest narcissist, the children don't desire to be hurt...
