It is still too hot to do much. I went to the grocery store at 6 this morning and it was already 75 degrees. It had gone up one degree by the time I finished shopping. As long as we don't get violent storms I don't care. I just want some rain and for it to cool down.... EVERYONE IN MY AREA... LET'S WASH OUR CARS!
I think if everyone who does laundry would start hanging it outside again, we may get moisture in the air to help it rain.... We need rain.
I saw a picture on facebook this morning, it was a sign out front of a building.... "Satan called. He wants his weather back."
He can have his weather back.

Lara and Katelyn
Lara calls me just about everyday with a new Katelyn story. She is growing up so quickly. Katelyn is showing signs of a strong will, and thinking skills. Maybe homeschooling her would be the right thing to do.

Miss K
My daughter just posted a short movie with Miss K in it.... Bahahahaha. Love that little one. I am so glad my grandchildren love to be FUNNY....
love this
I don't know who wrote this, but I think it is great.
A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still
in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty "food boxes and
wrappers" strewn all around the front yard.
The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the
house... and there was no sign of the dog.
Proceeding into the entry-way, he found an even bigger mess.... A
lamp had been knocked over (broken), and the throw rug was wadded
against one wall.
In the front room... the TV was loudly blaring a "cartoon channel",
and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of
children's clothing.
In the kitchen... dishes filled the! sink, breakfast food was spilled
on the counter-top, the refrigerator door was wide open, dog food was
spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small
pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of
clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or
that something rather serious had happened.
He was met with a small trickle of water, as it made its way out from
under the bathroom door. As he peered inside, he found wet towels,
scummy soap, and more toys strewn over the floor... Miles of toilet
paper lay in a heap, and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror
and walls.
As he rushed to the bedroom, there he found his wife... still curled
up in the bed ! In her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at
him, smiled, and asked how his day went.
He looked at her, bewildered, and asked, "What the hell happened here
today?"
She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home
from work, and you ask me what in the world I do all day?"
Yes," was his incredulous reply.
She answered, "Well... today I didn't do it."

Then he passed away.... His wife is a friend also, also from our class. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP Steve...

Just...
Two of the granddaughters father decided to go active duty. He and his 3rd wife moved to Texas. The girls have adjusted far beyond great. Of course the youngest is very good at pretending that she is sad they left. She loves her father, and she likes playing with her step-sister, who is close to her age; however the HAVING to go visits interferes with other things she would like to do many times. Her step-mother is trying to convince her how awful her life is with all the activities she chooses to be in and that her mother is just awful for "forcing" her to do them. Well the truth is the girls want to do the activities; however they do take up most of their time. Thus moaning and groaning at times. On the other hand, it makes sure the girls are doing something to keep them from getting in trouble. I have found that students that have "no life" other than school and family, get into a lot of trouble. You have to allow your children to experience life in order to grow.
The girls have gotten registered for private school now. Wow.
It doesn't seem possible, but almost time for school to start again. I know my cousin is counting down her last days until she retires. She teaches in the balanced calendar school, so she is going to be starting in just a few short weeks. She is the last of the "oldsters" still teaching.
I on the other hand, have told the principal I will sub enough days to cover the girls tuition each month. So I will be working 6 days a month just for them to go to school. BUMMER!

We need...
We need some rain. The corn leaves are almost curled shut which means it is way to dry. Most of it is at least knee high... knee high by the 4th of July ... is a good sign. I am off now to the cemetery to do some picture taking and hunting. Catch ya later.

Looking forward....
I am really looking forward to fall. This super hot summer is a little too hot for me. Maybe I should move farther north and west.... lol
I have so much genealogy that I need to work on. I have so many things to scan. I have so much work to do on my next book.
Well maybe I should just get busy. Stay off of the computer for playing and do my work!

Motivation, where are thou?
I really need to get some motivation. Since I have finished my 2 months of on the run vacations.... I did enjoy every minute of them, I have found it hard to get back in the groove.... So motivation, come on I need to feel I am accomplishing things again....

Spent the day....
We spent the day yesterday with Lara, Chris and Katelyn. Chris started a garden project which is right up my alley.... so to speak. I helped him with the placing of the pond.... James... well he found a place on the couch to rest.
Katelyn demonstrated her lighting fast crawl... We all ate at a local root beer stand.
It was a great day. Love visiting my children and their families.

walking and walking
I have been walking and walking. I walked 4 cemeteries today looking for grave sites for individuals that I had requests for.
I have some obits that I need to find at the libraries for some people. I love doing this type of research. Pretty much on my time schedule, not others.

One crazy....
This is one crazy plant. It has three different colored flowers on it. It was a mother's day gift 6 years ago from my daughter Casi and her family. Isn't it beautiful? The picture just doesn't do it justice. Lavender, blue and pink....

Cemetery....
I was very successful yesterday while walking 2 cemeteries. I found all requests for one of them and the other I found all but 5. Felt good I am heading out in a few minutes to go do another one or two. Have a great day.
Keep smiling and today flags half staff.

Okay one year....
Okay, one year since I retired from teaching. My take on retirement... it is not what it is cracked up to be. I have talked to others that have retired. They pretty much agree. So now I am looking for a part time job. I am being picky as I really don't want to work, but I need something to fill in the time that I don't have something to do. The housework gets done in less than 1 hour. I do find a grave activity for a couple hours when the weather permits, I work on genealogy, I go to the library... I do cook for my mom and I do do her hair. However all of these activities become, well boring after a while. I really don't enjoy TV. My husband watches those crazy news shows constantly. I hate hearing those broadcasters over and over again. Then the ones that give financial advice. They plug their books, people purchase their books, they get richer and you get poorer. Of course there is a fool born everyday. One of the key issues if you really want to be rich... BE WILLING TO SCREW THE POOR!
Well I am done writing for this very minute. Going to go do some find a grave things. Later.

Today, June 4, 2012
Today I went to the cemetery to do some research for folks at find-a-grave. I found a few. I didn't spend as much time as I would like to have, however it was very overcast and it had rained earlier in the morning. I will go out again tomorrow as this is a great form of exercise. I love it.

June 3
It is Sunday, June 3, 2011. Devon has gone home and the house is sooooo quiet.
Rachel is at the Country Club, I need to pick her up at 9.
It looks like it could rain any minute, so I guess I should be prepared to pick her up early.
I ate lunch with Casi, Shane, Austin and Devon in Kokomo. Nice time.
Devon was worried we wouldn't get all of his "prize" possessions from our garage sale purchase, so he stood by the car trunk until he made sure all of his stuff was out of the car.
Which reminds me, I forgot to get my laptop out of the car. Later.

June 2
Today Devon, Casi and I went to some garage sales. Devon was looking for that special something. So he found some books, some shells, some decks of cards, a game and most important to him.... actions figures, soldiers and things to go with them... He spent just 10 dollars. That is all he had to spend. His last purchase were the soldiers etc and he said let's go home.
I guess as long as he got what he wanted the heck with the rest.. LOL.
After coming home and playing, eating and looking through his books, he was ready to go with me to find some graves for find-a-grave. It started raining so I only had time to find 2. I know were some of them are located since I have searched this cemetery many times.
I am taking Casi and Devon home tomorrow so I may have some time next week to do some more research.
I think it is time for me to take a vacation.
After writing this and cooking dinner, Devon and us went bowling. He finally got the hang of it.

June 1
Today is my nephew's birthday. He is a whooping 32 today.
It is also the first day of the 6th month of the year.
Christmas is only 206 days til Christmas.
I have my grandson still here. He wants to go skating tonight. Hope his cousins will be home to go with him. I don't think he will go with out at least one of them.
My cousin Susan is about 1 year and 8 days away from retirement.
All for now.
