A new home maybe....

I found a couple of homes near by that Kristina and the girls may like. They are in the price range she can afford. Big and nice. So maybe the girls, she and Daddy D will be living in a new home. These homes are well over 2000 sq. feet with basements and full attics. Lucky real estate is at a low right now. These homes would normally be around $125000.00 range or more. And they are only a few blocks north of their private Catholic school. Woohoo.

The Roast was ...

I usually cook a roast in the pressure cooker; however today I decided I would try in the oven. It was very moist. I also made Cheesy potato soup. That was delicious. My husband ate three (3) bowls full. It must have hit the spot.

It's Saturday....

It is Saturday, Aug. 25. Wow were has this year gone.
I have been doing a little subbing. Not a bunch but enough.
I am working on Christmas gifts. Yes I know, homemade... Well I like giving homemade gifts. They are from the heart, not CHINA. All the time devoted to the gifts speaks volumes. I, in return, love homemade gifts. I have just about finished up the last of my apple butter and the pickles Chris and Lara gave me last year lasted a whole day.
Those are the simple things in life, as well as the true spirit of giving.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow afternoon and evening will be busy. Kris has her first day of school. Rachel has a ballgame at 4 and Ashley has to be at her basketball game at 5:30. I think I will make sure Ashley does her homework right after school since there is no practice.

Romney....

All you Romney fans, better study your book of mormon.... it will be your national cult if he is elected president.... I will be moving back to the old country.... you can have the sinner. America will go down the tubes quickly.... he lacks leadership skills, is greedy and can only see his cult as being the guided way. Also, please note he lacks compassion, and who knows how many wives he really has since the others live in  trailers and barn out back of his mansion.
All you atheist God and Country will be the theme. Get ready with your purse strings as you will be in court fighting constantly with this guy and his mormon belief.

GRAND SLAM

Rachel got a grand slam in her softball game today. Way to go Ray. We love you. (Except that slid into home for theatrics...) Now I have wash her uniform for the second night in a row.... Hummm. Well it is in the dyer and will be ready for another game tomorrow.
By the way she is the winning pitcher in this game.... she knows how to help herself .... Wait the grand slam was the icing on the cake so to speak.

How many....

How many 10 month old babies do you know that are potty training themselves? I only know 1, Miss K. She has figured out how to take the disposable diapers off when she needs to go to the bathroom. So, she is training herself. Miss K has discovered that if she goes into the bathroom, bangs on the toilet lid, and takes off her diaper, her parents quickly come and sit her on the toilet. And then she uses it for both 1 and 2. Wow... we will have to start calling her Sheldon or Shellie after the character Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory. LOL!!!!!!!!!

Chores

The girls are doing great with keeping their rooms clean. Sometimes I do have to "gently" remind that dishes belong in the kitchen not bedroom.

3 behind

I am 3 behind on my blogging. Sorry to myself.
I have subbed two days this school year already. The last day there were 3 subs. There have only been 5 school days so far.... wowzers.

Substitute teaching.

Substitute teaching. Tomorrow I will be a substitute teacher --- Thursday and Friday.... I know administrators are thankful for subs... however students aren't always. Probably one of the hardest jobs. Of course these two days are with 1st grade, so I think it will be okay.

Bailing Out America and the American People... the perfect plan!

Bailing Out America and the American People... the perfect plan!

We all know that the bailout a few years back did nothing for the American PEOPLE only big banks and their paid officers.
Here is the perfect plan. 1.) the government will pay off, at tax time, $100000.00 single tax payers and $200000.00 married taxpayers debt. It has to be incurred before a set unannounced date.
2.) You have to provide your credit card numbers and any other debts IE. medical, college loans, house loans, car loans.
3.) You must file an income tax form before the April deadline.
4.) It is not announced that the program is in effect... just ask for information on your tax forms.
5.) The banks, car financial institutions and credit card companies all get their money owed and the consumer has $100,000. or $200,000.00 taken off their balances. Most AVERAGE Americans are not  $100,000.00 in debt.  (Some folks would have zero balances at the end.)
6.) NO INCOME LEVELS OR CREDIT HISTORIES used to determined who gets. Just filing your income taxes. Those who don't file, get no credit. Illegals get no credit.
7.) No individual will receive actual cash to spend. The money is sent to the financial institution directly for you by the IRS. Any thing less than $100,000.000 or $200,000.00 is not cash the taxpayer has coming back to them. It is a paper thing only. The financial institution will receive your payoffs starting with the largest amount owed and progressively your debt is paid until you reach the maximum, $100,000.00 for singles and $200,000.00 for married couples.
This is pure and simple. IT IS A WIN/WIN solution. It creates money for individuals to spend, saves some people from loosing their homes, the banks and credit cards get their money.
It is to be presented as a one time thing and written so it can never be offered again.
Here you have it. Bailing out America and the American people.

Those wild ghosts

Okay I know I have your attention. Strange things happen around here all the time. Today, for example, my husband could not find the channel changer for the downstairs TV. So after a hunt under couches, under cushions, all over the downstairs and upstairs, I decided I would just get one from another room to use.
So I go and do some laundry, my husband leaves to get a haircut. I come out of the laundry room and right there on the dining room table is a remote. I think to myself, "I don't remember carrying that in here." I pick it up and head to the TV room... well there was the one I was using with my crocheting....
We even moved everything from the table, the fruit bowl etc... no remote....
Good laugh must have been the ghost.
Then I did the girls uniforms for school, since their first day is Monday I wanted to get them ready. I knew I had done two skorts for Miss A. .... but when I took them out of the dryer... only one skort..... Man the ghost was really active today.... Well it turns out one skort is a tan and the other is navy blue so it was in the next load of laundry... darn no ghost activity on that one.

I just realized....

I just realized I never posted this picture of Chris. We were at Gordon Ramsey's restaurant in Westminster, England. He liked a recipe and mentioned to the staff he really liked it. And then said you wouldn't give me the recipe. Well not only did they give him the recipe... he got to visit the kitchen.

Indiana Beach anyone?

Okay family how about one last trip to Indiana Beach this summer? Let me know.

Miss K is a waving....

Miss K has learned to wave. Today Lara said Miss K is waving at you while we were talking on the phone.. I said, "Miss K, grandma is waving back." And then she start jabbering away.

Finally.....

Finally some real rain. The grass even looks greener today. Woo hoo!

A Speech Every American High School Principal Should Give. By Dennis Prager

A friend posted this to facebook. I think it is great. Every school across America should practice this.... Hat off to this principal.

A Speech Every American High School Principal Should Give.

By Dennis Prager.
To the students and faculty of our high school:
I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.
I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers and against our country.
First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships.. The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity -- your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American.
This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans. If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity, race and non-American nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto of America , one of its three central values -- e pluribus Unum, "from many, one." And this school will be guided by America 's values. This includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language, religion, sexual orientation or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness.
Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism -- an unhealthy preoccupation with the self -- while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, carpentry and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interested in are those based on ethnic, racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.

Second , I am uninterested in whether English is your native language. My only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking and writing English as fluently as possible. The English language has united America 's citizens for over 200 years, and it will unite us at this school. It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English language skills, I would be remiss in my duty to ensure that you will be prepared to successfully compete in the American job market. We will learn other languages here -- it is deplorable that most Americans only speak English --but if you want classes taught in your native language rather than in English, this is not your school.

Third, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor, everything in this school will reflect learning's elevated status. This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for Hollywood events than for church or school. These people have their priorities backward. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.
Fourth, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school's property -- whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can't speak without using the f-word, you can't speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission, plus epithets such as "Nigger," even when used by one black student to address another black, or "bitch," even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few your age to instinctively distinguish between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.
Fifth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way -- the way people attained it until decided otherwise a generation ago -- by earning it. One immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.
Sixth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda. No more time will be devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming. No more semesters will be devoted to condom wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue... There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual or not Christian. We will have failed if any one of you graduates this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately fortunate -- to be alive and to be an American.
Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of our country. As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you.

Miss K

Miss K is here tonight. Her parents went to her mother's 10 year class reunion. Well she has not stayed without them. Thank God all of my training as a mother and grandmother has taught me, if you walk them in the stroller long enough, they will fall asleep.

Freezer here they come...

I have been peeling and slicing peaches. I have frozen them to use in a peach pie during the winter.... woo hoo.
